The only track I mastered on this compilation was Blackout Transmission’s cover of City of Refuge but I also did stem mixing for the song too. It was fun to work with Chris on something and talk about how he recorded the parts and what he was going for. He had a solid mix going but the guitars needed a bit of extra treatment which always causes a few other things to need tweaking so I ran a quick mix from just the stems and then ran a master to get things sounding the way he wanted for the compilation.
As usual with The Blog That Celebrates Itself compilations of covers, there are a bunch of great bands doing great covers and these comps are a great way to discover a band with a song you know and then go off and discover what else the band has released themselves.
