I’ll be playing one summer show and it’s on Saturday August 3 at Rhizome in DC. Profit Prison from Seattle is coming through, he’s put out records on Hospital Productions and Avant Records. Joining him on tour is Sacramence who is always excellent live and has a re-issue coming out on Knife Vision Records. Rounding out the day is Sam doing a solo set as Vacuole Eyes, if you’ve caught any of his sets in Lazuli around DC you know to expect noise and synths buried in reverb.
This is an afternoon show, music will probably start up around 3pm, be sure to bring some beers and edibles for the occasion, it’s gonna be a spacey synth show.

Profit Prison (Avant Records/Hospital Productions) is the solo work of Seattle-based Parker Lautenschlager, previously in the hardcore band Marrow, power electronics act Anteinferno, and black metal cult Bhereg. Profit Prison explores lyrical themes of isolation, estrangement, deprivation and paranoia against an aural backdrop of synthpop, post-punk and abstract industrial music.

Richly layered and dense, the music on LSD expands on the templates set by the early industrial pioneers of the first wave of the 1970s and 80s. You can hear alternating traces of Throbbing Gristle at their most dreamy and harrowing, while Front 242-esque rhythms coil in and out throughout the album.
