I recently got to work on an excellent new EP by Baltimore’s Expert Alterations. I know Alan from Wildhoney whom I’ve worked with plenty of times (and rave about all the time) so I knew I was in for more great music.
This self-titled EP is pretty easy to peg in the influences of The Fall, Wedding Present, and other more modern groups like Crystal Stilts, but I also heard a lot of SST era Sonic Youth and other more American underground roots bleeding out as well. (Including some my own local DC roots ala Sprites, Snow Fairies, Teen Beat, and obviously the label that this EP is coming out on [Slumberland]).
