I’ve known Paul Baker (Ceremony / Skywave) since the late 90’s. One of my favorite memories was when we were eating dinner at a rest stop on the New Jersey turnpike on the way to NYC for a show. I hardly knew Paul but we were sitting there in the grimy rest stop and a Weezer track off the blue album came on the overhead speakers and simultaneously we both noticed we were tapping along to the song which sparked a discussion about how we both love that album. That moment was a good indicator we’d be long time friends, we both love good pop music and heavy massive sounding guitars.
This past summer and fall I got together with Paul and Jamie Casey to work on mixing their new project Static Daydream. Paul was looking for someone to mix the tracks and I was looking for bands to work with to expand my mixing experience. We’ve been working on a bunch of tracks and some of them are getting a debut online for listeners. If you are familiar with Skywave or Ceremony or even some of my own band, then Static Daydream is for you.
